MASSA Hosts Free Medical Check-Up to Promote Student Well-being

The Management Sciences Students’ Association (MASSA), Faculty of Management Sciences, Lagos State University, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, successfully organized a Free Medical Check-Up Program for students of the faculty.

The initiative formed part of MASSA’s broader commitment to enhancing student welfare and encouraging a culture of preventive healthcare within the university community.

Accessible Healthcare for Students

The medical outreach, which took place at the LASU 2-in-1 Hall and the Faculty Front Area, provided students with access to essential healthcare services at no cost. These services included general medical consultations, basic health screenings, eye examinations, and medical advice.

Professional health personnel were present throughout the exercise to ensure that students received proper attention and guidance based on their health needs.

Overcoming Challenges, Delivering Impact

Although the program encountered some logistical challenges, the overall outcome was a resounding success. A large number of students participated and benefitted from the services rendered, many of whom expressed appreciation for the opportunity to receive timely medical attention within the campus environment.

Students who required further treatment were issued drug prescriptions and counseled on appropriate next steps, reinforcing the importance of early detection and health awareness.

Reinforcing Commitment to Student Welfare

The successful execution of the Free Medical Check-Up underscores MASSA’s dedication to student-centered leadership and holistic development. By prioritizing health initiatives alongside academic programs, the association continues to address the broader needs of students.

MASSA has reaffirmed its commitment to improving future health-focused initiatives, with plans to expand the reach and scope of similar programs in subsequent editions.

Looking Ahead

The association extends its appreciation to all medical professionals, partners, and students whose cooperation contributed to the success of the program. MASSA remains resolute in its mission to promote a healthier and more supportive academic community within the Faculty of Management Sciences.
